Family & Community Projects

Some of the most delightful uses of Zo are the personal projects people build for their families and communities. Not work tools. Not productivity apps. Just... fun, useful things for the people they care about.

A Leaderboard for Mom

A product manager in New York plays the NYT Pips game with her mom over iMessage. She used Zo to:

  1. Ingest the data from her iMessages

  2. Parse out the game scores

  3. Build a shared leaderboard site

Now she and her mom have a running competition with stats, history, and bragging rights. This is the kind of project that would be "too small" for a developer to build professionally, but perfect for Zo.

Family Genealogy Wiki

A founder in LA is building a wiki for his family genealogy – and building tools in Zo to help family members view and contribute to it.

Zo becomes the infrastructure for family knowledge:

  • A central place to store documents and photos

  • Tools that make it easy for less technical family members to participate

  • AI to help transcribe, organize, and connect information

Weekend Activity Digests

A software engineer in NYC set up an agent that sends a digest of weekend activities to their family via email. Every Friday, the family gets a curated list of things to do together.

We're planning to add the ability to register multiple phone numbers, so your Zo can send updates to you and other members of your family (or company, or community).

Managing Mom's Rentals

A software engineer (and competitive Tekken player) in Boston is working on replacing the SaaS products his mom uses to manage her rentals in Puerto Rico with software he helps her build in Zo.

The goal: custom tools that fit her exact workflow, without monthly subscription fees, that she can actually use.

Fantasy Football Monitoring

A software engineer in NYC uses Zo to monitor his fantasy football teams on Sleeper. The AI watches for injuries, lineup changes, and trade opportunities – then alerts him.

Serious business? No. Fun? Absolutely.

The Joy of Building for People You Know

"When I found Zo I was so excited, it really does make a non-technical person's life so much easier."

There's something special about building tools for your family and friends. You know exactly what they need. You can iterate together. And the result is something no generic app could provide.

Zo makes this accessible. You don't need to set up servers, manage deployments, or write production-quality code. Just describe what you want and build it together.
